Meadow flower

I have been using the New Horizon dsp so much since I got it but not so much the B side. Today’s cards use both the A and B sides of one sheet as a background for water coloured Meadow die cuts.

Each card uses half a 6x6 sheet trimmed a little to fit onto an A6 card base. I have kept the colours quite minimal to tie in with the dsp. The blue one has Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy, the pink one has Blackberry Bliss and Polished Pink.

I started by die cutting a pair of leaves and flower stems and after spritzing with a little water, I coloured them using a water painter and a drop of ink from refills in the previously mentioned colours. I allowed them to dry and die cut another leaf for each card in Night of Navy and Blackberry Bliss.

In addition to the dsp, each card has a cardstock layer underneath it and a strip of vellum on top, a die cut panel (Tasteful Labels) which sits behind the die cuts and a cute little tag.

Vellum is tricky to stick in place without glue showing through so I have left the strips a little longer and folded them over the top and bottom, sticking in place with sellotape. I did add a little glue behind the white panel where it would be hidden.

The two leaves were added first, then the flower stem. The tag has been stamped with 'hello' from Sweet as a Peach and a little ribbon bow added.

Lastly I added a few gems, some clear and some Polished Pink or Night of Navy.

So team blue or team pink?

Thanks for looking,
