Iconic Imagery Autumn

I bought this online exclusive set mainly for Christmas cards but today chose to use just the little leaf stamps to make an Autumn themed birthday card. I’m entering my card into this week’s Global Design Project challenge #gdp459 where the theme is greenery.

I made the leaves using the wet wipe technique. I put dots of ink from ink refills on a wet wipe and then inked up my stamp from there. The colours were Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Lemon Lolly. On some of the leaves I stamped the outline using ink straight from an ink pad for a more definite impression.

Next I added a 1 inch strip of gingham check dsp from Perennial Lavender to the inside of the card and trimmed 3/4 inch off the front so it could be seen.

I stuck the leaves, overlapping, all down the right hand side overhanging the cut edge. Next I added the dsp layer to completely cover the front with the leaves peeking out.

The green and happy birthday (Attention Shoppers) panels have been cut using the dies that coordinate with the Iconic Imagery stampset. I trimmed a little off the green panel to sit nicely on the card.

I added a bow of Linen Thread under the happy birthday label and really wanted to add a few gems but I didn't have any in the right colours. Guess what's going on my next order!

Below you will find product links for the main items used, the links take you to my online Stampin' Up! store and to show my appreciation for your order, if you use the current month's host code, I will send you a thank you card and a small gift.

Thanks for looking,

Katie
