The Make
I wanted to make a card with lots of texture so started by choosing my layers. Crumb Cake for the bottom layer, embossed using Exposed Brick, then coloured at the edges using a blending brush with Copper Clay and Early Espresso. Next there was a strip of Timeless Plaid dsp in co-ordinating colours. Then the layer that my garden elements sit on, Basic Beige stamped in Crumb Cake using Elements of Text. Some Copper Clay linen thread and a few Earth Tone Shimmer Gems were also added.
Storybook Garden Patch has a lovely selection of images, it was difficult to choose just a few. The plant pots were a must, coloured in Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Peach Pie. I also chose the watering can, coloured in Smoky Slate, Gray Granite and Crumb Cake. And finally the little turnips, I chose to use Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Shy Shamrock, Blackberry Bliss and Ivory.
It's a lot of colours but it helps to lift the image if you use different shades and tones. I really liked the more muted effect achieved by colouring onto Basic Beige rather than white.
If you know a keen gardener I am sure they would love to receive a card like this. Have a look at the image of the stampset in the product link below to see all the other lovely vegetables included.
