Dainty Flowers

My second time blog hopping with the Stamptastic Friends and this month we have a Fancy Fold challenge. If you follow my blog you may have noticed I really don't do fancy folds so this was a bit of a stretch!

Once I had decided to go for the simplest fancy fold I could think of (haha) I was able to focus on the design itself. I have to say, I love it!

I started with an Orchid Oasis card base cut to make an approx 6" square card, folded in half and then the front folded back on itself, that's the fancy fold element.

I used a piece of the beautiful Dainty Flowers Saleabration dsp and measured and cut panels for the three areas shown above. The main piece is roughly 5 3/4" square, the other two were cut to the same height and the width to allow the same size edge around.

A white square (Stylish Shapes) was die cut and then stuck on as a diamond shape in the middle. This provides an area to write on that is hidden when the card is closed.

Next I die cut some flowers and stems (Dainty Delight) out of Basic White, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Fresh Freesia and Old Olive. I wanted to try and match the colours of the flowers in the dsp so used blending brushed to add Orchid Oasis to the white, Cajun Craze to the Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry to the Fresh Freesia.

I cut another square the same size as the one inside from Orchid Oasis. The inner square has been cut from one of the reverse sides of the dsp which has a lovely watercolour pattern. I carefully added the stems to each of the flowers and then stuck them to the front panel.

My Mother's Day sentiment (Daffodil Daydreams) has been die cut using a banner die (Stylish Shapes). With love stamped inside is from Country Bouquet.

I love how this card turned out, perhaps I'll make a fancy fold card from time to time. The dsp is definitely the star of the show though. It can be yours for free with a £45 catalogue spend until the end of this month.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used here, you will find product links at the end of the post. Please use this months host code and if your order is over £30 you will get a hand made thank you card and small gift from me.

I wonder what the other Stamptastic Friends blog hoppers have come up using their new products. You can check them out by clicking on the links below.

Thanks for looking,

Katie x
