I do love an uncluttered card, sometimes though they are harder to design than one with lots of layers and elements. It took me a few goes to get this one right, I’m really happy with the balance of stamping and white space.
I’ve used two stamp sets, Artistically Inked ( I know, again!) and Sparkle of the Season and two die sets, Christmas Trees and Messages.
The colours chosen are some of my favourites and work well together for a non traditional Christmas Card, we have Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Smoky Slate.
I started with a basic white layer 5 1/2 inches square and stamped the Artistically Inked texture stamp twice in Coastal Cabana. Next I stamped the swirl in Smoky Slate, lastly I added some little snowflakes in Fresh Freesia.
I love these little trees, I've used matching and complimentary colours - Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia, Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and White.
I could have stamped directly onto my card base but as I chose not to, I've added a Coastal Cabana layer just a fraction bigger than the stamped square.
Assembling the card was straightforward, I added the trees using glue dots as liquid glue can seep through the little detail cuts leaving you with a sticky finished card.
The Merry Christmas sentiment, which was cut using the Messages die, has been added over the tree trunks and stuck in place with dimensionals.
I really like the pretty, fresh colours used here, I wanted to keep the card clean and simple but it could easily be made 'more' by embellishing with ribbon or twine and gems.
Here's what I used with links to my shop, thanks for looking,
