Among the Swallows

A single large stamp delicately coloured with water colour pencils and a simple sentiment is all that was needed to make this pretty card.

The Make

Among the Swallows is such a pretty stamp that benefits from delicate colouring, which is why I chose to use water colour pencils.

I used both sets of pencils, colouring the larger flowers in Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. The leaves are Old Olive and Granny Apple Green, the little flower stems, Melon Mambo and the birds Pacific Point and Balmy Blue. I did add a touch of colour to the background using the Coastal Cabana pencil.

It took a little while, building up the colours gradually but I find colouring quite relaxing so didn't mind a bit.

I layered the stamped image onto black cardstock and added a really simple 'hello' sentiment.
